Son a papá is a piece inspired by my Father, Manolo Navarro, a pianist, composer, and arranger. The piece is an homage to my father’s hands at the piano with his favorite Caribbean genres: el Son, la rumba, y el montuno. The piece centers on the opening theme, el Son and after a brief and rhythmic journey, lands for a moment in a beautiful moment, el Danzón. After that nostalgic momentum, the main theme is heard again with more power, masacote y sabor.
